Business Continuity Planning Event

Make sure the worst doesn’t happen

Wednesday 19th October 2011

ACS ITO UK Head Office, Telford, Shropshire
We are constantly reminded of the more dramatic reasons for business disruption; however it is likely to be something far more mundane which may compromise your organisation for a period of time.

Whatever the cause, the results can be the same; loss of sales, loss of share price, loss of reputation.

Is your business prepared? Do you have a Business Continuity Plan in place?

With the objective of offering help, guidance and information, ACS are hosting a Business Continuity Management event which includes sessions on why every organisation needs to consider business continuity, from the legal requirements to the “nice to haves”.

Who should attend: Directors, CEOs, CFOs. COOs, Business Continuity Managers, Risk Managers, Supply Chain Executives who, following the recent national and international crises, feel their organisation may be exposed in their business continuity planning.

Why you should attend: Reacting to a business continuity crisis is the worst case scenario. There is a better way to manage it. Equip yourself with the knowledge to build a business continuity plan fit for your business and make sure the worst doesn’t happen.

Business Continuity – Why should I? What will it give me?

Angela Robinson, Chair of the Business Continuity Institute’s Risk & Governance Group will be discussing the importance of BCM in business today and why it requires investment, something which seems particularly pertinent after recent national and international events. She will also be discussing the legal responsibility of directors to ensure that it’s happening in their business and potential consequences if it’s not.

Social Media - Friend or Foe to the BCM Manager?
Social media may seem quite a lightweight topic at first glance but if the BCM Manager isn't aware of the issue, a business disruption or crisis badly handled can quickly turn into a social media firestorm that damages the reputation of the business. Catherine Petersen, Principal Consultant from SunGard Availability Services will be discussing the risks of not managing this communications channel correctly and the rewards if you do with practical, proactive guidance.
