CARILLION:

BUILDING ON SUCCESS

Carillion’s long-standing relationship with ACS spans twenty years. In February 2006, Carillion plc successfully completed the acquisition of Mowlem plc. The integration of the two companies makes Carillion one of the largest construction and support services organisations within the United Kingdom, employing around 50,000 people with annual revenues of 4 billion pounds and an impressive order book of 13 billion pounds. Carillion operates in a number of international regions with offices in Britain, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

A BRIEF HISTORY

The Group delivers high quality, cost-effective and sustainable solutions using its wide range of skills and resources. Its key target markets are health, defence, education and transport (rail and road infrastructure), building and facilities management and support services for public and private sector customers. In 2006, as part of the project to bring the former Mowlem organisation in line with Carillion’s IT infrastructure, ACS was awarded a contract to participate in the deployment of some 4,000 new and refurbished PCs across 250 locations nationwide.

As well as securing this project with Carillion, ACS will also be taking over the hardware maintenance contract for the former Mowlem PC population which will be added to the existing maintenance contract for Carillion’s systems.

The relationship between the two companies has endured changing commercial structures and personnel changes, but the increasing involvement over the years within Carillion has made ACS their trusted and preferred supplier for PCs and Windows servers. Today the relationship is stronger than ever. This case study highlights the ACS approach; after 20 years, ACS is still the number one preferred supplier in their sector.
