THE CHALLENGE
IT departments within educational establishments are under constant pressure to keep up with technology as more and more of both the student and tutor workload is handled online and needs to be available 24x7.
As part of the ongoing technology refresh that North Devon College embarked upon several years ago, ACS was approached to advise how best to enhance the robustness and reliability of the current data centre infrastructure.
THE SOLUTION
ACS provided North Devon College with consultancy and ongoing support, hosting several workshops to design and scope a SAN and server environment which would enable the College to provide a facility for students to remotely access coursework and email, as well as supporting core business applications.
“We have been working with ACS in various capacities for over 20 years,” said Wayne Gaish, IT & Information Services Manager at North Devon College.
“We must provide constant access, both onsite and remotely, for students and staff, so reliability is fundamental to our systems.”
